She began her journey in Sri Lanka, earning her MBBS degree from the prestigious University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where she trained as a physician. However, upon moving to the United States and successfully completing all three parts of the USMLE, Dinithi pivoted her career to focus on molecular biology and genetic testing—a decision driven by her commitment to supporting her family, including raising three children. In 2014, Dinithi joined the high-complex molecular genetic laboratory field as a technologist and rapidly rose through the ranks, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of laboratory operations. Over the past decade, she has garnered extensive expertise, from developing a molecular genetics laboratory from the ground up to serving in leadership roles such as General and Technical Supervisor, Laboratory Manager, and Vice President of Operations. She currently serves as the Quality and Compliance Manager at Elite Clinical Laboratory, where she oversees critical areas, including policy and procedure development, internal billing and accounting, and the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Dinithi’s credentials underscore her dedication to excellence. In addition to her medical degree, she holds specialized certifications such as ASCP-MB and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, affirming her expertise in the high-complex molecular genetic laboratory field.
